Raise a Glass to the Winners of Dilmah RHT Netherlands 2014!

The culinary scene of the Netherlands is a constantly changing tapestry. Each culinary professional of the country is an artisan who adds  his or her unique patterns of colour, flavour, style and imagination to this. A tea-inspired weave was added to this one-of-a-kind tapestry yesterday as the Dilmah Real High Tea Challenge took place in the Netherlands for the second consecutive year.

The Miele Inspirience Centre in Vianen was a beehive of activity as participants from 4 of the top culinary venues competed for the national title. Vilmos Dohnal & Wesley Schipper of Restaurant Vermeer (Hotel NH Barbizon Palace) walked away with the highest honours as the Dilmah Real High Tea Netherlands 2014 national winner. Vera Kuiper WillemsFilipe Braz of Hotel Double Tree by Hilton Amsterdam too won Gold and, finished a close second.

They impressed a hard-to-please panel of judges which consist of Hidde de Brabander – owner of the high-end patisserie label Dreams of Magnolia, Robert Schinkel – star mixologist and Dilmah Tea Sommelier, Bernd Uber – Black Hat Chef and one of the most respected WACS (World Association of Chefs Societies) judges and Dilhan C. Fernando – Director Marketing Dilmah Tea and the son of Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando.
